Carol  Muske-Dukes

Carol Muske-Dukes was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1945. She received her bachelor’s degree from Creighton University and earned her M.A. at San Francisco State University. She created Free Space, a creative writing program at the Women’s House of Detention, Riker’s Island, and has also been an English professor or lecturer at various institutions.  In addition to her works of poetry, Muske-Dukes has published collections of essays and novels. She is currently on the faculty at the University of Southern California.
