David Wagoner

Born in Ohio, David Wagoner has taught at the University of Washington since 1954, where for over 30 years he edited the literary journal Poetry Northwest. Understated and accessible, his poems often treat everyday events or offer lyrical responses to the beauties of nature. In addition to verse he writes fiction; one of his novels, The Escape Artist, was made into a movie by Francis Ford Coppola.
